Advanced Forecasting

A Basic Forecast is created from averaged historical data from a selected period of trade, so it provides a simple forecast of future trade. There are certain circumstances where we might want to adjust a forecast to create a more accurate picture of an upcoming period we know will be above or below average.

Drivers in Salesline are the way to adjust the forecast to create a variant predicting these "unaverage" weeks.

There are 2 main methods to add a driver:

1. Top Down forecast - eg, a Weekly budget
2. Bottom up forecast - enables you to input all of the various factors that you think might impact the projected Sales

Once you have chosen your preferred driver, you will need to add and apply the driver in order to update your forecast
