How to transfer to and from the Safe Budget

At times, you may need to transfer cash to or from the Bank or Trade Tills, which impacts your Safe Budget figure.

All transfers with an impact on your Safe Budget should be made from the Office tab in Cashup.
When capturing this movement, you can assign the change to appear against a specific Count, the change will then appear from this point onwards.

It is important to note that any changes to the Safe Budget can only be captured in Cashup after the most recent signed-off safe count.

Below are some scenarios and guidelines for capturing different options available within Cashup.


Transfer Money from Banking Trade Till > Safe Budget

Effect: This movement will decrease your Cash Increase and Bankable figures, taking money from your Trade Till. At the same time, it will increase your Safe Budget.


Transfer Money from Bank > Safe Budget

Effect: This movement will increase your Safe Budget only and will not impact your Cash Increase or Bankable figure in Cashup. This means you are withdrawing funds from the bank that you intend to hold in your safe.


Transfer Money from Safe Budget > Trade Till

Effect: This will decrease your Safe Budget and increase your Cash Increase and Bankable figures in Cashup. You are not borrowing money from the safe, but instead, you are permanently putting this money back in play in your Trade Till. This money will be used for refills, etc.


Transfer Money from Safe Budget > Bank

Effect: This will permanently decrease your Safe Budget. It will bypass the Trade Till and will not increase your Bankable figure in Cashup. The movement will capture money transferred directly to the bank.

Scenario Example:

    • Start Count Safe Budget is $125,320.
    • The venue is currently at a negative Bankable figure of -$15,899.
    • I then withdraw $40,000 from the Bank.

      I capture the Bank withdrawal in Cashup via the office tab as normal:
      Bank > Banking Trade Till for $40,000.

      This movement increases my Cash Increase and Bankable figure, but has not impacted my Safe Budget at this time.

    • My Bankable figure is now +$24,101.

    • I decide to hold some of the funds permanently in my Safe, and wish to update my Safe Budget, leaving the rest in my Banking Trade Till for refills.

    • I record the movement via the Office tab: Trade Till > Safe Start for $14,680.

      This movement reduces my Cash Increase and Bankable figure, and adjusts my safe budget
    • My Safe Budget is now $140,000 ($125,320 + $14,680).
