Use the Roster Efficiency Report to Measure and Improve Performance
The Salesline Efficiency Report automates benchmarking, daily performance tracking, and potential efficiency savings calculations through a unified interface. This report enables venue managers to engage with real-time data insights.
Where to find the Roster Efficiency Report
- Navigate to the Reports tab in Salesline.
- Select an existing report or create a new report
- The report will include 2 sections:
- Efficiency Tracker
- Savings Calculator
Terminology

| Upper Quartile |
The value that marks the 75th percentile of a dataset. It is the median of the upper half of the sorted data. High-performance benchmark (top 25%) |
| Secondary Quartile or Median |
The middle value in a list of numbers. It divides the dataset into two equal halves. (Note: This is different to an average) Typical performance benchmark (50th result) |
What is the Efficiency Report used for?
- A venue manager can select a 13-week range to compare current $/staff performance to historical results.
- Using the efficiency tracker a venue manager can identify days where $/staff either meets or misses Quartile Targets.
- A day that meets the Upper Quartile Target is highlighted in GREEN,
- A day that meets the Secondary Quartile Target is highlighted in ORANGE
- A day that misses the Secondary Quartile Target is highlighted in RED
- Using the savings calculator, a venue manager can identify potential savings due to the increase in efficiency.
Creating an Efficiency Report
To create a new efficiency report,
- Navigate to reports
- Click Setup new efficiency report target
- Setup new targets
- Name the report
- Select the venue
- Select the starting week, the date the tracker will start from.
- Select the base 13-week period, the date period that tracker will be compared against
- Click Create Targets
The efficiency report needs at least 13 weeks of data to give accurate results. This smooths out any unusual spikes or drops, so the targets aren’t thrown off by outliers.
Reviewing an Efficiency Report
To review an existing efficiency report,
- Navigate to reports
- Select the name of your existing efficiency report
- In your efficiency report
- Filter options are available for week, area and class.

- /Staff hours for current week
- Hitting the mark
- Upper Quartile
- Secondary Quartile
- Total % Benchmark Hit

- Can I change the default 13-week range?
Yes, the default date range is 13-weeks, and you can increase the date range - However you cannot decrease the 13-week period. - What is the $30/hr rate used in the savings calculation?
This is a hardcoded value to standardise savings projections across venues based on Industry Benchmarking. - Can I override the quartile targets?
Not at this stage; Targets are system-calculated to maintain consistency. - Where can I find guidance on using the reports?
